Reverend Corey Terry

Rev. Corey Terry is no stranger to the Southeast Queens area. Rev. Terry’s educational development took place in schools in and around the Queens area. Rev. Terry’s received his Bachelor degree in Theology. He worked for the Telephone Company as a (Outside-Engineer) for several years, and a Real-estate broker for over 20 years in the business. Rev. Terry is the Director of Community Engagement at Ocean Bay CDC in Far Rockaway. As a youth, Rev. Terry played on every youth athletic league in SEQ. Rev Terry’s adolescent years had some challenges, but that did not and will not define who he is today. Through the mentoring of the late Rev. Dr. Dwight M. Jackson of Amity Baptist Church, Rev. Terry turned his life around. It was then that Rev. Terry realized what he wanted to do for other youths, which was to be a mentor like Rev. Jackson had been for him.
Rev. Terry as he is known in the community is an Ordain Minister of the gospel. He is the Founder and Executive Director of “Our Brothers Guardian Inc. Mentoring Program” which is housed in the Springfield Gardens Middle School/ I.S 59, Golden Maples in Far Rockaway but services all of Queens youth ages 5 and Up. The organization was born out of a great need that Rev. Terry saw with our young people. The programs motto is “RESPECT” for oneself and others. Rev. Terry has many venues where he is working with youth such as providing leadership for youth. He was also the former Youth Pastor at The Greater Springfield Community Church.
As a proud parent, Rev. Terry has been active in the schools where his children have attended throughout School District 29. Rev. Terry is also known for providing leadership with fundraising events that benefit schools in the community. P.S. 176 where the recipients of a state of the art sound system in the auditorium because of his and an others hard work. Rev. Terry initiated the “Community Teacher’s Appreciation Day”. He believes that teachers and staff members who are working hard to educate our children should be honored.
Rev. Terry is a Board Member of the “First Generation of Cambria Heights”, former Chairman of Education at CUCE, member of MT. Zion lodge #32 and former board member at SEQCYD . Staying connected to the youth, Minister Terry has coached Pee Wee and Major League Baseball for Saint Albans. Minister Terry is a community activist who is always ready to be on the front-lines with any issues that are challenging the South East Queens area.
